The Raleigh City Council authorized staff today to create an “Unsheltered Homelessness Response Pilot program” (for $5,000,000) to respond to the increase in homeless camps and to reduce homelessness in the city.
The program will include direct-to-tenant housing assistance, homelessness system support, a coordinated community response, and funding to repair existing housing to provide more affordable housing options for people exiting camps.
Funding will be made available from unappropriated program income generated from previous bond revenue
